We welcome volunteers of all ages, but those under 17 must be accompanied
by an adult. All you have to do is stop by the Center and fill out
an application* which will put you on our database. If you would
like to help out, just tell the staff, and we'll put you to work.
Our volunteers get together on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30
PM. Meetings are held at the Shelter where we discuss Shelter information,
fund raising, animal care, etc.
For more information contact the Animal Adoption Center, or email or
call our Volunteer Coordinator Marsha Hershman at (856) 693-1729.

volunteering opportunities
Although we always need volunteers for all kinds of jobs, here are a
few areas of special need right now at the Center:
Vet Runs
With well over 50 dogs and 50 cats at our center, trips to the vet are
frequent and we don't currently have the staff to meet these needs. Please contact
our volunteer coordinator for more information.
Foster Homes for Kittens
With kitten season well under way, we need qualified foster homes to
care for some of the many litters and individual kittens who come into
the Center. Please contact our
volunteer coordinator for more information.
Luv A Pet Adoption Center at Petsmart
The AAC provides both the animals and the volunteers for the "Luv-A-Pet"
cat adoption center at the Petsmart in Cherry Hill, NJ (on Route 38 across
from the Cherry Hill Mall). We are trying to expand our adoption hours
to include 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday thru Friday. We need a staff
of volunteers to commit to a time slot during these daytime hours to be
able to do this. If you are interested, please contact our Luv-A-Pet volunteeer
coordinator, Elaine Holmes, directly at her home number: (856) 429-0518.
the Shelter From the Storm Project
The Shelter From the Storm is our ongoing renovation project. We need
the help volunteers with and without construction experience. This project
does not require an ongoing commitment – if you can give just one
day of your time, we will be deeply grateful. Click
here to learn more about the project and how to make a contribution.
Our Pet Therapy Program
A commitment of as little as a few hours a month can make a huge difference
in the lives of many people. Click
here to learn about our pet therapy program.
Humane Educators
We are seeking trained educators to help with our Humane Education program.
Please contact our volunteer
coordinator for more information.
