Become a volunteer
As a non-profit organization, we could not operate without the volunteers who are the lifeblood of the Animal Adoption Center; we extend a heartfelt thanks to those who show up and make such a difference, and we invite you to join us.You might consider becoming a trained volunteer and help us give our animals the love and attention they deserve. Because we are a no-kill shelter, some of our residents can be with us for months and even years (if they need rehabilitation) before they find good homes. Our dogs and cats need companionship and interaction. Our adult animals can get depressed and withdrawn, and our staff simply cannot give them all the attention they would like. Note that we will provide you with professional training before you work with our dogs so that you know the best, most effective dog-handling techniques.
Or, you could become a trained Pet Therapist and support our community outreach efforts to those whose lives are brightened by a visit with a pet. We can also use your support in maintaining our facilities, and if your skills are in business and the community, we need you on our fund-raising team. We have over 50 active volunteers who assist us in these areas, and with the challenges we face, we need everyone who can give us even a few hours each month.
