How you can help
Your donation will aid us in keeping our doors open to the many, many unfortunate "unwanted" animals in the county and across the nation. Your donation will help us feed and care for our cats and dogs, pay the huge veterinary bills generated by our no-kill environment, and assist in defraying the necessary operating costs of electric, water, phone and gas. Additionally, your funds will let us complete the planned construction improvements that will keep our animals more comfortable. These improvements will, in turn, allow us to reach out to more people, thereby, increasing adoptions and participation. Many companies offer matching contributions to charitable organizations such as Animal Adoption Center. A company match can double the funding that we receive for our programs.
We ask you to please consider your employer's matching contribution program.
Unlike other shelters, we, at Animal Adoption Center, receive no government assistance. We function on donations only. We are committed to treating the sick and injured animals which arrive at our center. We do not euthanize animals that are considered unadoptable; we do whatever it takes to rehabilitate them. Your donation(s) can help us lower our veterinary bills that can run several thousand dollars per month, even with subsidized and donated veterinary services. This donation of compassion is always very much appreciated .
At Animal Adoption Center, we are known for our compassion and care. Unlike other shelters who receive government funding, we receive no assistance of any kind, yet we do not turn sick or injured animals away, nor do we euthanize animals considered non-adoptable. We do what it takes to rehabilitate the dogs and cats we take in. Your monetary contribution will help offset a veterinary bill that can run several thousand dollars per month, even with subsidized and donated services
You might consider becoming a trained volunteer and help us give our animals the love and attention they deserve. Because we are a no-kill shelter, some of our residents can be with us for months and even years (if they need rehabilitation) before they find good homes. Our dogs and cats need companionship and interaction. Our adult animals can get depressed and withdrawn, and our staff simply cannot give them all the attention they would like. Note that we will provide you with professional training before you work with our dogs so that you know the best, most effective dog-handling techniques.
Or, you could become a trained Pet Therapist and support our community outreach efforts to those whose lives are brightened by a visit with a pet. We can also use your support in maintaining our facilities, and if your skills are in business and the community, we need you on our fundraising team. We have over 50 active volunteers who assist us in these areas, and with the challenges we face, we need everyone who can give us even a few hours each month.
