Happiness is - a new home...
My husband and I adopted Baxter on 12/10/11. As you can see in the picture Baxter has adapted very well with our family. Our grandchildren just love him. Baxter is a wonderful dog we are very lucky to have found him. Please thank everyone at the shelter for taking such good care of him, especially Laurie.
I just wanted to say that I adopted a cat by the name of Edward (now known as Jameson) back in February. He is a maine coon, and was about to turn 7. Even though he's still quite the scared cat that he was on the 1st day, I really couldn't of asked for a better cat. He's attentive, responsive, loves to play and is a great companion!! Thanks alot!
Please find attached some up to date pictures of Inkey. It's hard to believe we have had her for over a year already. She was so afraid when we first brought her home, now she runs the whole house and will come to us when we clap. She even hangs out with the other cats now. Maybe you can put this in your Happy Ending Section on your Web Site
My happy ending is, at this moment, sitting on my lap trying to 'help' me type. In August I adopted Jerry from your Petsmart (Cherry Hill). Now renamed Ripley (sorry, I knew a Jerry who was a real cad) he has adjusted extremely well to life with his two older feline 'sisters'. He's a typical kitten..but that's just what I needed, having lost a cat in December and another in June. He's a mischievous lap cat with some definite orange cat attitude. My major reason for mailing my thanks to you is to tell you that , in my opinion, the sole reason he is so lovable is the tireless hours that you folks at AAC spent socializing him. He interacts well with cats and other people. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
On first looking at him, you wonder why anyone would adopt a 10 year old 86 lb yellow lab/german shepherd mix who had been in the shelter for almost three years and who had only 40% of his teeth and an ear that had been mangled years before. I don't know why, but I'm glad I did and so is Mr. Elliott.
"Mr. Elliott is quite a headstrong dog and also very lovable. He just needs someone to be firm. I'm glad that the shelter was a no-kill shelter and that Mr. Elliott has a chance to live out his remaining years in freedom in a home environment. He's sitting with me with me right now as I write this -- he usually doesn't let me get more than 10 feet away before he follows me
