We May Have to Close, Save Our Shelter

Dear Friend, please read on:

Through the years we’ve been dedicated to companion animals. We rescue, rehabilitate, nurture, and rehome them. You know us, have adopted your pets from us, received our newsletters, taken comfort from our profoundly no-kill practices. Here’s our status: Right now, most bills are paid (except for several thousand in Vet bills), our animals are contented, well-fed, and healthy, their kennels and cages are warm, dry, and pleasant, but if we don’t raise a large amount of money quickly we will have to close our shelter.

Catastrophic expenses have put us in real trouble. Expected funds didn’t materialize. Budgeted expenses were twice what we anticipated, and we had several thousand dollars of emergency repairs – a new roof, wiring, new windows, and on and on. The total came to over $100,000  which used up all of our cash reserves. Without the expected influx of funds, we’re against the wall.

It’s a situation that we can’t fix ourselves—we don’t have the funding, network, resources, or influence. That’s why we’re reaching out to you. Help us meet this emergency and stay open. Help us locate the funding that we need to bring safety and stability to our future.

Our promise: we are determined do everything we can to stay open. With your help we can turn our troubled little shelter into a flourishing model of NO-Kill successes.
